Let's Talk about Backups
You are responsible for keeping frequent backups of your course programs.
At the end of each class whether online or in-person, copy your work onto a USB thumb drive for safety.
Loss of your program will not result in an extension of due date for an assignment. BACK UP! :-)
Two Ways to Drop Your Mark by a LOT
1. No Comments in your Code: Communications is approximately 15% of your overall mark. That INCLUDES but is not limited to documentation of your code. If you can't be bothered to put MEANINGFUL, EXPLANATORY and APPROPRIATE commenting in your program code, your mark will be affected accordingly. We don't need a Harry Potter novel of comments, but a 'New programmer' should be able to read your comments and FULLY understand what your code does.
Let's also use meaningful variable, method and class names. If you want to store a person's age, a variable, "theAge" is much more meaningful than "x". If you're writing a method to convert Celsius to Fahrenheit, call it, "celsiusToFahrenheit", not "daBomb".
2. Blow off your FInal Project - You are given considerable in-class time to work on this assignment but your will likely need to work on it outside of class time as well. If your teacher finds you're blowing off this work, they will:
a) Speak with you
b) Speak with your parents (if you're under 18).

Students will plan and write simple computer programs by applying fundamental programming concepts, and learn to create clear and maintainable internal documentation. They will also learn to manage a computer by studying hardware configurations, software selection, operating system functions, networking, and safe computing practices. Students will also investigate the social impact of computer technologies, and develop an understanding of environmental and ethical issues related to the use of computers.
